At MyRWA we understand that a healthy environment and people’s well-being are intrinsically linked. The improvements we make, and the projects we undertake are guided by this principle.
Take a look at some of these recent initiatives to help protect and improve community health:
Mystic Boating Advisory—tells you when it is safe to boat on the Mystic or Malden Rivers
Fish Advisory—check out our latest information about what fish are safe to eat, and where you can fish in the Mystic
Mystic Greenways—2.5 miles of improved paths—with five more miles in the works; through this project we are making sure that people can use our green space safely.
Wicked Hot Mystic—documenting real temperatures on-the-ground in the Mystic and using this data to develop cooling strategies for our hardest hit communities.
Through the Resilient Mystic Collaborative, a partnership among 20 municipalities within our watershed, MyRWA is working to develop and implement climate-smart solutions that prepare our communities for more heat, storms, and flooding while making our neighborhoods more livable and equitable. On the water quality front, we are siting and pushing for green infrastructure improvements to ensure that the Mystic has clean water.
I hope that you, too, are committed to a clean, resilient Mystic for all our community members today and for the future.
