The Mystic River Watershed Association, in partnership with the cities of Everett, Malden, and Medford recently completed the Malden River Greenway Vision Plan to reimagine the future of the Malden River.
Through funding from Somerville’s Community Preservation Act, the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) in partnership with the Department of Conservation (DCR) and Groundwork Somerville will create a comprehensive, community-driven redesign for Blessing of the Bay Park on the Mystic River.
The park's new “River Overlook” – once a collection area for removed water chestnut – will feature a picnic area, boat launch and long seat wall with engravings of local animals.
As part of its 45th anniversary celebration this year, MyRWA has created the Mystic Quest, a fun way to explore, discover and enjoy the watershed however you wish.
More than 60 residents of Malden, Medford and Everett congregated at the Malden Public Library on Monday June 26th to kick-off the visioning process for the Malden River Greenway Plan.
Torres-Fleming shared her story of creating a community-driven movement to revitalize parks along the Bronx River in New York, an urban waterway that shares many similarities with the Mystic River.
