With funding from the MassBay’s Healthy Estuaries program, experts and volunteers gathered data to better understand how to protect Belle Isle Marsh, especially in the face of rising sea level. The data—which includes things like sediment samples, to salinity and water level—is now being used to develop a plan to better protect this important habitat. When we protect salt marshes, we protect wildlife and neighboring communities from climate change impacts.
This project, and many others funded by MassBays will be highlighted at the Science Walk at Martin’s Park, Boston from June 28 - July 28 at here.
