The Alewife Brook flows through neighborhoods in Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, and Somerville and is a popular recreational and commuter area. However, persistent overflows of untreated combined sewage are leading to poor water quality and an environmental hazard to those who live and spend time near the brook.

Malden river works receives $3.5M from eea Through the gateway city parks program

The City of Malden is moving forward with the Malden River Works project thanks to the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) which recently announced that it is awarding $3.5 million to the city through the Gateway City Parks Program.
