Meet Our Summer Fellows

Daisy Hoover recently graduated from Davidson College with a degree in Biology and Environmental Studies. Originally from Miami, Daisy will be joining MyRWA as an Environmental Science and Stewardship Fellow for her second summer in Boston through the Forest Foundation. She’s passionate about the intersection of science and community engagement, working to advance community-driven responses to climate change. From testing samples to talking with volunteers, Daisy is excited to learn more about the Mystic watershed and its unique urban ecosystem.

Outside of the office, you can find Daisy crafting, making up new recipes, or jamming on the keys.

Hwan Huh is one of the 2024 Environmental Science and Stewardship Fellows at MyRWA, and grew up in Boxborough, Massachusetts. He is currently a rising senior at Boston College majoring in Environmental Studies, with a concentration in environmental justice and policy. His previous experience in environmental non-profits includes the Appalachian Mountain Club, where he learned the importance of environmental communication and community engagement and hopes to continue that work here. When he’s not working, Hwan is an avid rock climber, as well as a runner and hiker.

Kate grew up in the area and is passionate about learning more about the watershed she lives in. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, baking, sewing, and listening to music and audiobooks.

Natalie Lopez is a rising third-year at the University of Southern California pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Studies and concurrently pursuing her Master’s in Integrated Design, Business, and Technology starting Fall 2024. Lopez joins MyRWA as an Environmental Science and Stewardship Fellow for Summer 2024 through the Yale Conservation Scholars - Early Leadership Initiative program. She is originally from Imperial Valley, California, where her interest in water quality work and its relationship to the nearby communities sparked due to local concerns with the Salton Sea and sewage water coming in from the Mexico- U.S. border. Lopez is passionate about the changes happening due to human impact on the planet and the energy transition. She hopes to pursue a career in either a non-profit or start-up environment to help find innovative solutions that will keep communities healthy and create equitable opportunities for them to adjust to the inevitable changes that are happening over time. In her free time, she enjoys running and exploring the Greater Boston area!
