Meet Our New Fellows

Mariangelí Echevarría-Ramos is a Puerto Rican joining MyRWA as a Climate Resilience Fellow for Summer 2022. She is a Master’s in Public Health candidate specializing in Community Health at Boston University. As a result of having served as a community-engaged research coordinator at Boston University, she is passionate about working with Hispanic communities in the Greater Boston Area. Mariangelí holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with concentrations in Environmental Sociology/Policy and Natural Resources from the University of Puerto Rico. After experiencing first-hand the power of community mobilization in the 2017 Hurricane María in Puerto Rico, she felt eager to learn more about climate change resilience and community wellbeing, leading her to pursue graduate studies in the United States. As a Climate Resilience Fellow, Mariangelí will explore the intersection between housing, heat, and health through Participatory Action Research. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, thrifting, working out, reading, practicing analog photography, and going on adventures.
