MyRWA Trees Projects

Somerville Tree Planting Project

From 2017 - 2019 MyRWA worked with the City of Somerville and over 120 volunteers to plant 100 trees in the Ten Hills, East Somerville and Assembly Row neighborhoods. The City of Somerville’s Urban Forester identified potential tree locations and MyRWA worked to facilitate a public process including residents in the site selection, planting, and watering processes. The Ten Hills and East Somerville neighborhoods were chosen due to the extremely low tree canopy percentage and a high need for investment in environmental justice initiatives.
