A new journal article reports how the MyRWA Policy Committee has integrated data analysis in its recent work on sewage pollution, proposed changes in regulation, and more. Using data from the Mystic River watershed and across Massachusetts, the article includes the first ever analysis demonstrating that sewage discharges impact communities of color and low income populations at much higher than average rates. See the article for more information about the open source data and analysis website created by MyRWA Policy Committee members, the Archive of Massachusetts ENvironmental Data (AMEND), and its relation to other international movements like data journalism and environmental justice.
