Woburn Conservation Day

  • Horn Pond 85-93 Lake Avenue Woburn, MA, 01801 United States (map)

Join the City of Woburn for a fun-filled day at Horn Pond! Stop by the MyRWA table to learn about THREE exciting open space improvements happening in Woburn:

#1: A new fish passage at Horn Pond*

85-93 Lake Ave.

Stay tuned for a state of the art fish passage that will showcase our amazing herring migration, the biggest in the state! The fish passage will make it easier for fish to get into Horn Pond, and for visitors to witness this amazing migration! (Project webpage)

#2: Improved open space and path network at Shaker Glen*

187 Cambridge St.

Improvements will include: an extended path system, improved wildlife habitat and water quality, flood storage, and shady spaces to stay cool. (Project webpage)

#3: Hurld Park vision

Along with Mayor Michael Concannon, Ward 3 Alderman Jeff Dillon, and the Woburn Recreation Department, we are leading a community-led visioning process of the former Hurld School and neighboring Hurld Park. The site of the former Hurld School will consist of 1) a grassy area for the community to gather and 2) a more “natural” area for walking with restored stream, wetland, and floodplain.
