Timing is everything!: Climate-related patterns in adult and juvenile river herring migrations

Join us for a River Herring Research Talk with Meghna Marjadi, PhD!

When: Thursday, May 11th from 7pm to 8:15pm

Where: Zoom Only (due to a change in venue availability, this event is now fully remote)

*Registration is required, a Zoom link will be sent via email after registration

Description: Some patterns of river herring migration have changed over time, potentially in response to climate-related factors Migrations for both adult and juvenile river herring are triggered by a range of environmental and biological conditions that remain poorly understood. We used long term datasets, video monitoring, and genetic processing to explore cues and impacts of adult and juvenile migration timing in multiple river herring systems.

About Dr. Marjadi: Meghna N. Marjadi recently completed her PhD in the Graduate Program of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is also a Switzer Foundation Fellow. Meghna started working on river herring at MyRWA in 2012 where she set up the first counting program for the Mystic Lakes. Who knew that she would still be working on river herring research over a decade later!
