The Mystic River Watershed Association is launching a campaign to bring public art to the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse in Somerville. The artists are hosting an on-site, socially-distanced workshop so the community can contribute photographs of the Mystic to be integrated into the wave façade. Each individual/household can sign up for a 45 minute shift. All events will be COVID-safe and have a 12 person max capacity. The Mystic River Watershed Association is launching a campaign to bring public art to the Blessing of the Bay Boathouse in Somerville. We are calling on the community to 1) send us their favorite photo from along the river and 2) donate to the crowdfunding campaign to make this art a reality.

This project is being done in partnership with two great artists, Carolyn Lewenberg and Jessica Finch, Selbert Perkins Designs, and is being funded in part by a challenge grant from Mass Development’s Commonwealth Places Program. The Mystic River Watershed Association now must raise the remaining match of $7,500 through a Patronicity Crowdfunding campaign. 100% of the funds go toward the installation, and the deadline for raising the funds is June 4, 2021.
