The annual Mystic River Herring Run and Paddle, which runs every May, celebrates the return of the river herring and includes a 5K run/walk, 3 paddle events (12 mile, 9 mile or 3 mile), and an 11.4 mile bike ride along the Mystic River hosted by Bike to the Sea.
