The Northeast Miniforest Summit is coming to Gateway Park and Riverbend Park in Everett for a tour of our forested wetland restoration work! We welcome you to join the tour to hear more about these projects from BSC Ecologist Casey-Lee Bastien, City of Everett Conservation Agent Tom Philbin, Landscape Designer Riley Noble, and MyRWA Senior Climate Resilience Manager Cat Pedemonti.
About the Gateway Park Miniforest: The reforest project is 5 acres of reforestation including trails and various ecotones, soils, and hydrology. The forest planting replacing fields of phragmites and occurs over a brown field part of former Monsanto chemical plant where deed restrictions limit what sort of restoration and analysis can be done.
