Communities of Color & Access to Nature with Mardi Fuller

  • Charlotte and William Bloomberg Medford Public Library 111 High Street Medford, MA, 02155 United States (map)

A lifelong backcountry adventurer, Mardi Fuller became the first known Black person to hike all 48 of New Hampshire’s high peaks in winter. Her mission is to support communities of color to self-determine in outdoor recreation and in the conservation movement.

Join us to hear Mardi discuss the societal forces that enable the persistent exclusion from full nature access that people of color face, as well as her personal experiences connecting with nature and navigating the mainstream outdoor culture.

Doors open at 6:00 pm.

The program starts at 6:30 pm.

Sponsored by Friends of the Fells, Mystic River Watershed Association, and The Great Malden Outdoors
