Improving Biodiversity in Horn Pond — How You Can Get Involved

Join Bill Lee, Gerry Lohnes, and Jim Joyce from the Friends of Horn Pond and Daria Santollani from the Mystic River Watershed Association for a discussion about improving aquatic biodiversity in Horn Pond. We will share about the harmful impacts of the aquatic invasive plant water chestnut and an upcoming volunteer hand-pulling effort to remove it at Horn Pond. We will also discuss native aquatic species in the pond that we are working to protect, in particular, the migratory river herring that travel to Horn Pond each spring to spawn. These efforts need community support! Come learn about the biodiversity of this special place in Woburn and how you can get involved with protecting it.
