Join us at a virtual info session on Tuesday, March 25 at 6:30pm to learn about MyRWA’s programs dedicated to increasing urban tree canopy in the Mystic, how trees can help fight pollution, and how you can get involved.
MyRWA’s tree-planting projects support planting on public lands and at private residences and equip communities with knowledge of best practices for increasing urban tree canopy. We are also working with cities and towns to construct tree trenches - green infrastructure solutions that combine the pollution reduction benefits of green infrastructure with the benefits of trees, while helping to increase tree survivability.
To date, MyRWA has worked with communities within our watershed to plant over 3500 trees. In addition to shade and cooling, mature trees reduce energy usage and related cooling and heating costs, increase property values, improve air quality, sequester carbon, and enhance stormwater management. Join us at the info session to learn about these programs and how you can get involved!
