Join Save the Alewife Brook for a Community Meeting about Combined Sewer Overflows on December 8th at 7:00 pm via Zoom!
We have BIG NEWS from the awesome folks at Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection!
1. On-site, real-time CSO notification*
2. Odor control
3. “Floatables”** control
Because of your support, there’s tremendous momentum for positive change to improve the health and well-being of Alewife neighbors and everyone... for fish and fowl, for every working parent and child who enjoys the Alewife parkland for recreation… and for those who use the path for school sports training, jogging, cycling, and access to the Alewife MBTA station.
* colored beacon lights so that folks know when there’s sewage in the water from combined sewer overflows (CSOs)
** floatables = the stuff that you flush that isn’t liquid
We will talk about viable solutions to untreated sewage pollution. It’s totally doable and there are multiple opportunities available.
