The folks behind the Malden River Works initiative to create a new climate resilient park for all are holding a Malden River Stewardship Workshop to learn about and take action on invasive plant species and stewardship, and you are invited!
When: Saturday, October 15 from 10am - 12pm with pizza at noon (rain date: October 22)
Where: 356 Commercial Street, Malden's Department of Public Works yard, by the boat house
What: Starting with a short tour of the Malden River shoreline, learn about the top five invasive plant species and how you can help protect and enhance the Malden River ecosystem (1/2 hour). Then, spend some time (1 hour) removing invasive plants with other volunteers. Gloves and clippers will be provided. Finally, spread milkweed seeds to create habitat for monarch butterflies, an endangered and important pollinator species! (1/2 hour)
