We need volunteers who live and/or work in the Mystic River watershed to collect temperature and air quality data. The data will be collected using heat sensors and air quality monitors connected to cars and/or bicycles.
To be a part of Wicked Hot Mystic, participate in this Zoom webinar to learn how to get temperature data, use sensors, and get more details on the project.
More information about Wicked Hot Mystic:
Data collected by volunteers in the 21 cities of the Mystic River watershed will be used to create a map of heat islands and places people can go to cool off. The map will then inform regional social resilience efforts in the years to come. This project will provide the data necessary to identify, prioritize and reduce the worst urban heat islands, especially those that affect vulnerable populations.
