Help remove the invasive plant, Oriental bittersweet, from Torbert Macdonald Park in Medford, MA. All supplies are provided. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle.
*Special Event* - At 11:00AM: Come meet MARV the ArtMobile and help make a temporary sculpture in MacDonald Park with bittersweet vines that MyRWA volunteers have removed from the park. Help weave the vines around a three-dimensional form that will remain on the lawn after we leave. Lend your voices to a community podcast and video about invasives, art, and community.
MARV brings a wide range of arts activities—including movie nights, music and spoken word events, arts-and-crafts workshops, and dance performances—to residents and neighborhoods of Medford and surrounding communities. MARV is the brainchild of the Medford Arts Center Inc. (MACI), which received grant support for MARV’s first year from the Medford Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, and from Arts Alive Medford Foundation. MACI has also received generous support from DCG Auto Body and Mechanical Center, Medford Technical High School, and individuals.
