Bedikat HaMayim: April 6, 2025 Cleanup
Join Mystic River Watershed Association volunteer—Karen Grossman—and sign up for Repair the Seas’ first Bedikat HaMayim! This special event invites you to join a meaningful, water-centered ritual as we prepare for Passover by reflecting on your relationship with the sea. Be part of this unique experience and help spread awareness about protecting our waters. Sign up now and make waves for a cleaner, healthier planet!
Just as you clean your kitchen, you can help by cleaning the shores of the Mystic River that leads to the sea. This builds of the annual Reverse Tashlich event—that Karen Grossman has led for five years along the Mystic.

Malden River. Park at the north size of the plaza with Super 88 Market, 188 Commercial St, Malden, MA 02148. Walk to Malden River. Can be nettles, so where pants. Another option is the Northern Strand Community Trail, which goes right through Malden Center.
“How to” of cleanups:
1) Wear long pants, closed toed shoes and gloves.
2) Refrain from picking up sharp items.
3) Bring garbage bags and come up with a plan for disposing of the bags. If you are doing a small event, it might be easiest to bring the bags home and dispose of them there. If you believe you will have a large number of bags call your the Department of Public Works (311 number) for your city/town or the Dept of Conservation and Recreation to arrange for pickup. Need help finding that information:, please contact Michelle.Liebetreu@MysticRiver.org.
