Herring Education intern, Emma Arnesty-Good.

Hello! I'm Emma Arnesty-Good. I'm from San Francisco, CA and recently graduated from Tufts University with a degree in American Studies. I've spent the last four summers guiding mutli-day rafting trips on wild and scenic rivers in Oregon and Idaho. During my three-month summer stints running rapids, I've developed a deep connection to the outdoor spaces I've visited and an unwavering instinct to protect them. Learning about damming in the West and the subsequent decline of Salmon populations was particularly heartbreaking. As the Herring Education Intern, I'm excited to engage with watershed communities who have a similar fish migration happening in their backyard. I'm hoping to dip my toes into the world of education and support our partnering teachers in bringing this project to fruition. Although, I, like the anadromous fish, will ultimately follow some instinctual tingle back to the streams of California, I'm enthused to be working with MyRWA for the inaugural season!
