Tree ID in Macdonald Park

  • Macdonald Park 4253 Mystic Valley Parkway Medford, MA, 02155 United States (map)

Looking to embrace your inner naturalist and master your tree identification skills? Join us in Macdonald Park to take a closer look at the diverse community of tree species growing there. We will identify trees by observing leaf shape, bark, branching patterns, flowers, and seeds. Then, we will label the trees with arboretum tags for all park users to become familiar with the biodiversity in Medford’s green spaces.

This event will take place Saturday, July 11th 2019 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Torbert Macdonald State Park. Registration required for EACH person attending. Additional information will be provided closer to the date.

Tools required to participate:
-- Smart phone: A smart phone to access the online data.

-- Gaia GPS: Gaia GPS is a FREE mapping and navigation app used to map the locations of the trees that will be labeled. The specific map containing this information will be shared with participants prior to the event.

Complete registration form for EACH person attending.
