A lot of exciting things are happening in and around the Mystic River in Medford! Major improvements are underway at MacDonald Park. The Mystic Greenways initiative is closing the gaps in the multi-use trail network. A new herring monitoring program is being introduced in the Medford schools. And a number of fun and exciting events are planned for 2017 to celebrate the Mystic River Watershed Association’s 45th anniversary.

Friends of the Mystic River (FOMR) invites you to learn more about these and other project when it co-hosts a “Mystic Meet and Greet” with the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, at the West Medford Community Center, 111 Arlington St. in Medford. Representatives of FOMR will be joined by MyRWA executive director Patrick Herron, and the association’s Mystic Greenways coordinator, Amber Christofferson.

Short presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, and there also will be information about how you can get involved in supporting both organizations’ efforts.
