Somerville Tree Planting Event

Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2017 on Bailey Road in Somerville, MA, for a volunteer tree planting event hosted by the Mystic River Watershed Association and the city of Somerville. The event starts at 9:00 am and runs until approximately 12:30 pm, followed by a pizza lunch. All supplies are provided. Event is limited to 20 volunteers.

We will plant 10 bare-root trees, a planting method that allows volunteers easily to plant trees without machinery and with a high degree of success.

This event is part of larger project to plant 100 new trees in Somerville over the next year and a half. It is funded by a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), with matching support from the city of Somerville. Other project partners include East Somerville Main Streets, Somerville Climate Action, and Partners Healthcare.

Please fill out this registration form (REQUIRED) for each person attending the event. Details about the exact meeting place will be sent out to volunteers before the event. Participants must be 15 years of age or older. Youth 15-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
