Notice from "e" inc.
On Saturday, Oct. 14th 3,000 rubber ducks will be released into the Little Mystic Channel to race in the inaugural “e” inc. Duck Dash. Funds raised through this family friendly festival, which includes music, food, fair games, and science fun, will support our next hands-on exhibit: “Our House: Rethinking Home in a Changing Climate.” This will open at the new “e” inc. Environment Science Discovery & Action Museum this January.
“e” inc. is a Partner of your school and has been teaching your children for many years. Indeed, many of the students from the school visited the first exhibit “Weather and Climate” and loved it.
For any of you not familiar with “e” inc. we are a leading nonprofit bringing science and civics to youth and families in Metro Boston. We teach children of all ages about the beings, biomes, resources and systems of our planet using hands-on science experiences paired with action and leadership.
The Duck Dash will have fun fair games, food, science activities, and kite-making from recyclables. Amy Kucharik and the Second String Band will provide the music. Mediterranean Cuisine from the Chubby Chickpea food truck will be available for purchase as will ice cream.
Then at 1:30 – the ducks will race!!
The Rubber Ducks are $5 each and we ask that you purchase (many of) them in advance.
The first-place winner will receive a $350 cash award! Other Duck Dashers will have the opportunity to win prizes from Celtics tickets to dinners for 2.
Duck Dash happens on Saturday, Oct. 14th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is at 114 116th Street in Charlestown along the Little Mystic Channel in the Navy Yard Rain or Shine (ducks love water)! If it rains we will take the fun indoors but bring a raincoat for the race and CHEER ON YOUR DUCKIES.
