WAYS YOU CAN HELP
The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) helps protect the water and related natural resources of the 21 Mystic River Watershed communities by means of clean water advocacy, education & outreach programs, and water quality monitoring. We feel that it is important to work at a watershed wide level because our communities are connected by the water that flows between them.
In an urban watershed such as the Mystic, both the water quality and hydrology have been greatly impacted by long histories of industrial pollution, wetland infilling, old and deteriorating infrastructure, increased impermeable surface area, stream channelization and damming.
“A river is more than an amenity, it is a treasure.”
-- Justice Oliver Wendell HolmesBorn in Boston, Massachusetts 1841
